What is the wheel of names without repeats?
The wheel of names without repeats is a free online spinner loaded with 12 starter entries, such as Ava, Liam, Noah, Emma. You can change every slice, add your own items, set odds and keep a record of each result. People also search for it as “no repeat name picker”, “elimination wheel”, “random picker no repeats”.
A hidden random generator only gives you an answer. This wheel shows every option and the spin itself, so the group can see nobody picked the result by hand.

Situations that need no repeats
Presentation and speaking order, where everyone must go once. Secret gift exchanges, where each person draws one recipient. Assigning one job per person from a list of equal tasks. Prize draws with several winners, where nobody should win twice. Turn-based games such as karaoke, charades or truth or dare circles. Interview slots and appointment times. In all of these, a plain random wheel could pick someone twice; removing winners solves it.
How the odds change as names come off
With twelve names, the first spin gives each person a one-in-twelve chance. Once a winner is removed, the next spin is one in eleven, and so on until the last person is picked with certainty. Over a full round, everyone is picked exactly once, so nobody loses out. Only the order is random. This is worth explaining if someone complains about being last: before the first spin, every possible order was equally likely.
Last one standing
No-repeat mode can be flipped into a game. Instead of the picked name winning, it's knocked out. Keep spinning until one name remains, and that person wins. This format builds suspense over many spins and works brilliantly for streams, office parties and family game nights. For big groups, pick several names per spin early on to speed through the first rounds, then slow down for the final few.
Undo, reset and history
If a name comes off by mistake, use Undo to put it back without affecting earlier results. When the round is over, Reset returns every name to the wheel for the next session. The history panel records the order as it's built, so you have the full running order without writing it down. Export it as a CSV if you need a record.
Classroom and team ideas
Book talks: spin a daily order for five short presentations, resetting only when the whole class has presented. Stand-ups: run the order of speakers each morning so the same person isn't always last. Show and tell: each child spins once, then their name comes off. Workshop rotations: spin which group visits each station first. Holiday activity picker: family members take turns choosing the day's activity until everyone has chosen once.
Avoiding accidental repeats
No-repeat only works if every entry is unique. If a name appears twice on the list, it can still be drawn twice, once for each slice. Run Dedupe before the first spin and check the entry count matches the number of people. If two people share a name, add an initial.
Mixing no-repeat with weights
Weights still work in no-repeat mode. An entry with weight 3 stays three times as likely as an entry with weight 1 until one of them is picked and removed. That's useful when some people should tend to go earlier, but tell the group in advance.
